  • Camping Tikvah is ideal to discover the former Kamp Westerbork.  The Camp Westerbork Museum is located only 500 meters from our campsite. The exhibition depicts Dutch war time under occupation, with special emphasis on the persecution of the Jews. It first started as a refugee camp but after the Nazis decided on the systematic extermination of the Jews it became a transit camp for 107.000 Dutch Jews. From here Jews were deported to Auschwitz, Sobibor, Mauthausen, Bergen Belsen etc. The Westerbork Museum contains, amongst other things, a permanent exhibition of many photographs and documents. During holidays you can take daily guided tours. Information about Kamp Westerbork
