Camping in Drenthe at Camping Tikvah is camping at a special family campsite on the Drenthe Highlands. Young and old enjoy an unforgettable holiday here. From our family campsite you can walk directly into the forest with behind it heaths and sand drifts of Het Grote Zand. Our campsite is located 500 meters from the former Westerbork camp. With us you can camp safely because we offer very spacious pitches (120-250m2) with a beautiful view. We have excellent WIFI available at every location.

We also have motorhome places at our campsite in Drenthe.

Camping in Drenthe at our family campsite means first and foremost enjoying your family, nature and the lavish tranquility. But also cosiness and geniality are not lacking! Our campsite is surrounded by heaths, sand drifts, fens, coniferous and deciduous forests. It is a unique cycling and walking area. There are various hiking trails behind the campsite and there is also a numbered cycling junction that connects to the extensive cycling junction network. Children and youth will also get their money’s worth: there is a well-organized site with a playground, chill room, go-karts, etc. Camping Tikvah is centrally located in Drenthe, 2 kilometers from the village of Hooghalen and 9 km south of Assen.

The name “Tikvah” means ‘Hope’ (Hebrew word). We are located on a historical site. During World War II was the camp Westerbork a transit camp for almost the entire Dutch Jewish community. There is a memorial center which you can visit “Camp Westerbork” is 500 meters away. By the way, this is very much worth a visit (also very suitable for children). Guided tours are given every day.
